Warren Central High School’s Big Blue Band hosts a haunted house tour for kids age 10 and up, titled “Carnevil of Screams” this year. The haunted house tour has been held for about 10 years now, with a successful turnout.

As I toured the house, I was met by clowns and trapped patients similar to a haunted asylum. Further along the tour I heard screams of  children as they were met by characters from Stephen King’s “It.”

Turning the corner I saw what appeared to be an Annabelle doll-house room. Most adults were afraid to enter along with their young children.

Deeper down the tour, it felt as if the floor was caving in as many kids attempted to get to safety while people in the asylum attempted to grab at them as they exited.

I could clearly hear the screaming children and adults from one end of the mall to the other as more people waited in line to get their chance in the horrific tour.

Many agreed that the demonic clowns were the scariest part of the tour. Not only the children, but adults left the house shaking as if they had gotten a glimpse of a nightmare.

The “Carnevil of Screams” is nightly from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. through Oct. 31  in the Vicksburg Mall, 3505 Pemberton Square Blvd. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.
