VPD incident report: armed robbery, thefts and burglaries

The Vicksburg Police Department reported the following incidents from Friday, July 10, to Sunday, July 12.

Saturday at 3:56 p.m., a complainant came to the police station and reported an armed robbery. She said two individuals robbed her son at gunpoint, taking $860. The incident is under investigation.

Officers responded to two calls of auto theft Sunday:

  • At 8:53 a.m. officers responded to a residence in the 2600 block of Pearl Street where the victim reported someone stole a 1985 Ford LTD. The officer later recovered the vehicle in the 1100 block of Bowmar Avenue.
  • At 11:31 a.m., officers responded to the Eastview Apartments at 1900 Baldwin Ferry Road where the victim stated that someone stole a 2008 Honda Accord.

On Saturday at 7:59 a.m. officers responded to the Best Western Hotel, 2445 North Frontage Road, in reference to a theft, which was categorized as grand larceny. The victim stated a male perpetrator stole a 9mm Taurus handgun and a Galaxy 10 Plus cellphone.

Officers responded to two business burglaries:

  • The Temple of Christ Church, 1922 Pearl Street was burglarized Friday. Officers responded to the church at 12:30 p.m., where the complainant reported that someone broke into the church through the back door and stole a television and a Roku stick.
  • A storage unit at Centrex Storage, 19 Centrex Drive was broken into Saturday. Officers responded at 2 p.m. It is not clear if anything was stolen from the unit.

Saturday at 3:34 a.m. officers responded an address in the 500 block of Dabney Avenue for a vehicle burglary. The victim stated someone entered a 2014 Ford Fusion and stole a Taurus .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun.
