Christopher Michael Hayes, 32, appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court Wednesday morning. He was charged with kidnapping.

According to Vicksburg Police Lt. Johnnie Edwards, on Tuesday, Dec. 29, at around 2:22 p.m., Vicksburg police responded to Whataburger at 3402 Halls Ferry Road for a report of a kidnapping.

A BOLO (be on the lookout) was issued, and the black Ford pickup driven by Hayes was stopped on East Clay Street a few minutes later. The victim, who is Hayes’ wife, stated to investigators that she was taken from the restaurant by force.

Hayes was given a $100,000 bond by Judge Allen Derivaux. He is being held in the Warren County Jail and his case will be presented to a future term of the Warren County grand jury.
