Rankin sentenced to 30 years

Chauncey Rankin, 31, pled guilty to charges of  aggravated trafficking of a controlled substance and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon last week.

Judge M. James Chaney sentenced Chauncey Rankin to 20 years incarceration with 10 years of supervised parole upon release.

At the time of his arrest on Jan. 31, 2020, Rankin was in possession of more than 500 grams of meth, just over one pound, with a street value of $41,000.

A search warrant executed at his residence produced an additional amount of methamphetamine, digital scales, a 5.56mm semi-automatic rifle and over $3,500 cash.
