Accidental shooting on North Washington

Vicksburg Police are investigating a shooting that took place on the 2700 block of North Washington Street, near Food Max, at around 5:20 p.m. Thursday.

According to Deputy Chief Bobby Stewart, a 19-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the side and is now in stable condition at Merit Health River Region. The shooting is believed to be accidental or self-inflicted in nature.
