At around 3:15 a.m. Sunday morning, Vicksburg Warren 911 dispatched a call that an 18-wheeler was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane and about to cross the Mississippi River Bridge.

Vicksburg Police Lt. Joe Shows was on North Frontage Road near the Wisconsin Avenue overpass when he spotted the 18-wheeler. Shows gave chase and successfully stopped the semi just before Indiana Avenue.

With the assistance of several patrol units, they got the discombobulated trucker off the highway and headed in the right direction.

No information was available as to where he got on the interstate heading the wrong way.
