Hundreds of Mississippians are planning to rally in front of the Supreme Court on Tuesday in protest of the recent decision that overturned the state’s ballot initiative process and the voter approved medical marijuana program.

‘We are the 74’ represents the roughly 74% of voters who supported Initiative 65 at the polls in November.  One of the group’s organizers, Danny Collins, spoke with WLBT about the protest.

“It really just breaks down to people are sick and tired of our legislators and elected officials not listening to their constituents,” said Collins. “People have spoken on these initiative processes; we want them upheld. We want Initiative 65 upheld.”

Demonstrators will gather outside the Mississippi Supreme Court beginning at 11 a.m. on Tuesday to ensure their voice is heard.
