Missy Gators volleyball team preparing for a dominating season
Vicksburg High School Volleyball team is preparing for their upcoming season as they continue their summer workouts at the Vicksburg YMCA.
The Missy Gators have been training nonstop under head coach Deborah Brown who has installed a winning attitude into her team.
VHS made it to the second round of the playoffs last season and came second in district and they won district in 2019.
Although the Missy Gators are a young team, they are returning four seniors La’Daja McGruder, Jaylyn Davis, Arshayla Johnson, and Mary Katherine Archer who are all expected to have a big season.
Lili and Lexi Kistler are also key players for the Missy Gators who can serve and play about every position on the team.
Besides the upperclassman who have dominated throughout the years, VHS also have a few upcoming freshman Kennedy Mullins and Avery VanNorman who are expected to contribute a lot to the program.
Coach Brown has worked hard to turn the Missy Gators into a successful program in her tenure with VHS as they will continue dominating this upcoming season as the spotlight will be on them when they take on Canton for their first game on August 10.
