Two accidents within minutes of each other; one patient airlifted

Two motor vehicle accidents occurred within moments of each other Saturday night.
The first occurred in the 5700 blocks of Halls Ferry just before 9 p.m. The single-vehicle accident caused major injuries to the driver who was subsequently airlifted to UMMC with multiple issues. Due to the sensitive nature of this accident the Vicksburg Daily News will not release any further information on the vehicle or individuals involved.
The second accident happened just a few minutes later at Halls Ferry and I-20 at the North Frontage Road. Two vehicles collided at the intersection. The driver of the northbound vehicle had a child in the backseat who was uninjured. That driver was transported to Merit Health River Region for observation. The driver of the other vehicle had minor injuries and was a bit shaken up. Family members of both parties were on the scene shortly after the impact to assist their loved ones.
