Flashes hang in tight with Brookhaven on Friday
With back and forth touchdowns controlling the first beginning of the game, St. Aloysius fell 33-27 to Brookhaven Academy on Friday.
Brookhaven came out scoring with a long touchdown pass, but the Flashes quickly responded with a 35 yard touchdown run by Padre Gray Jr.
By halftime, the Flashes added more points to the board. Tristan Wilbanks threw to Chase Tucker for a 45 yard and a 55 yard touchdown, as well as scrambling for a touchdown and taking a 27-20 lead.
The Cougars and Flashes both went at it defensively in the second half, but Brookhaven eventually found themselves in the end zone after a tipped pass to tie the game at 27.
Shortly after Brookhaven’s touchdown, Wilbanks threw a pick six that gave the Cougars the 33-27 lead with just a few minutes left to play. The Flashes wouldn’t score again on the night.
St. Aloysius will travel to Adams County Christian next Friday.
