Vertez Shorter is already making an impact on Reinhardt’s football program as he was named the school’s defensive player of the week for last week’s performance.

In a 45-0 win over Warner University, Shorter grabbed two huge sacks to go along with three tackles in which two of them were for a loss of yards.

Shorter signed to Reinhardt earlier this year after starring at Hinds Community College last season. He played his high school career under Warren Central head coach Josh Morgan.

Shorter is now in his junior season and will face Campbellsville this Saturday in hopes of having another outstanding game.
