Skeletal remains were pulled from a location on Clay Street Wednesday afternoon.

Around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Vicksburg police were notified of a possible dead body in a building on the 2800 block of Clay Street.

According to Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey, what they found were human remains. However, the body had been in the location for a long period of time and all that remained was a skeleton.

There were no identifying items found in the area, such as a wallet or clothing. Vicksburg Police Chief Jones stated the remains will be sent to the crime lab to see if the identity can be determined and how long the remains had been there.
