Former WC standout Jones helped USM to a big win on Friday

Vicksburg native Demarcus Jones helped the University of Southern Mississippi to a win over Louisiana Tech on Friday.

Jones, who usually plays wide receiver, was switched to quarterback on multiple plays where he scrambled and picked up good yardage for the Golden Eagles.

After carrying the ball 14 times, Jones finished with 87 yards as USM secured a 35-19 win.

The Golden Eagles will play Florida International on Saturday.
