Blood drive for Vicksburg resident Lisa Thompson underway until 6 p.m.

A blood drive for Vicksburg resident Lisa Thompson is currently being held at the Medical Associates of Vicksburg until 6 p.m.

Thompson has been a resident of Vicksburg for the past 40 years and is currently at UMMC undergoing chemotherapy treatments. Thompson potentially has Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), a life-threatening condition.

Those who have received the COVID-19 vaccine can still donate with no waiting period. Those who have caught COVID-19 but recovered must be symptom free for 14 days. If you have been exposed to COVID-19, you may donate if symptom free for 14 days.
