Shamus Burcham was caught digging up a gravesite on Christmas Eve (credit: MPD)

Meridian Police arrested a man on Christmas Eve after they found him digging up a gravesite.

According to WLBT, the original call was for two men roaming around the cemetery with metal detectors.

Responding officers found Shamus Burcham in the process of digging up a gravesite.

Burcham has been charged with desecration of cemeteries or corpses.
