Jackson man charged with capital murder in the death of a two year old

20-year-old Jermarcus Kelly has been charged with capital murder in the death of a two year old in Jackson.

Two year old Melanie Henderson was found unresponsive on Friday and eventually died from her injuries on Monday.

In a press conference it was announced that Henderson suffered from blunt force trauma along with sexual assault.

Due to this matter being an open case JPD did not comment any further.
