Vicksburg native Jeremiah Riggs took Connor Tierney into the fifth round of a bare knuckle fight on Saturday before it ended in a knockout with Tierney taking the win.

Round one consisted of Riggs taking multiple right hand punches from Tierney but he was able to land one big punch before being knocked down in the first round.

Riggs, with a cut underneath his eye, bounced back in the second round when he hit Tierney with a nasty blow that took him to the ground.

By round four both fighters were able to land punches but Tierney remained on top after giving Riggs a few punches.

The cut on Riggs’ eye got deeper as the fight went on while he also suffered from being poked in the eye.

Midway through the final round Tierney landed the final blow that put Riggs down and forced the official to call off the fight.

Riggs now has a 1-1 bare knuckle record.
