Three injuries reported in collision on Clay

Three injuries were reported as a result of a collision between an emergency vehicle and another motorist.

At 3:20 p.m. a collision in the 1000 block of Clay Street, near Cherry Street was reported. Vicksburg Police Department and Warren County Sheriff’s Department officers responded to the call.

The collision on Clay Street did not involve a firetruck, as initial reports suggested, but rather an ambulance.

According to a witness at the scene, the ambulance was going to an emergency when they collided.

Two paramedics were transported to the hospital for evaluation. A female driver of the other vehicle involved was checked on scene. None of the injuries are believed to be major.
