Jones County Sheriff’s Department apprehends murder suspect overnight

Jones County Sheriff’s Department apprehended a suspect wanted for the murder of Brittany Nicole Holifield overnight.

On Sunday, boaters near the Highway 590 bridge located a body. The body was taken to the crime lab in Gulfport Mississippi for identification and identified as Holifield on Monday.

The crime lab ruled her death a homicide with the cause of death being blunt force trauma to the head.

JCSD started searching for Marty Breazeale, wanted for first-degree murder of Holifield.

Breazeale, 48, was apprehended overnight by Jones County Sheriff’s Department after responding to a call of a suspicious person near Bok Homa casino.

Breazeale is currently held at the Jones County Adult Detention Facility until his initial appearance in Jones County Justice Court.
