Stewart wins Top Cop Award at Jackson State University

Vicksburg native Sammy Stewart, Sr. has received the top cop award from Jackson State University.

Stewart’s hard work and dedication to his job is what Lee to him being selected for this award for the second time in his three years at JSU.

“It’s just a blessing that they honored me again because even under a new Chief they were still able to see how dedicated I am to my work,” Stewart said.

Stewart has currently been in law enforcement since 2014 and he gives much credit to those who inspired him to stick with it, such as Bobby Jones, Eric Paymon, Sr., Kathy Holden and his family.

The Top Cop Award is given once a year, every year, to those who show perfect leadership in their law enforcement career and Stewart is a perfect example of that.
