VHS are now the district champs

The Vicksburg High School volleyball team are now the Region 6-5A District Champions after defeating Florence on Tuesday night.

The Missy Gators went 3-1 with scores of (25-15, 25-22, 25-27(L) and 25-14) against Florence.

Kennedy Mullins was the motor for the team as she came out with one block, nine aces, 11 saves and 11 assists.

“It was total team contribution from the other players,” Head Coach Deborah Brown said. “We have to get back to the drawing board and eliminate unforced errors before October 11.”

VHS will host the second round of the playoffs next month.
