VJHS defeated Ridgeland 20-16 on Tuesday

Vicksburg Junior High School defeated Ridgeland 20-16 on Tuesday.

The Titans went up 8-0 in the first quarter as VJHS trailed for the majority of the game. Jeff Scott scored the Gators first touchdown from a 60-yard run as he finished with 124 on the night.

In the second half, Nick Carson caught a 45-yard touchdown thrown by Jordan Clay. The game-winning score came from when Clay hit Wallys Curry for a 25-yard touchdown followed by a two-point conversion by Clay with three minutes left.

As time was expiring, JonMichael Clay and Jabari Jones sacked the Titans’ quarterback to win the game.

Defensively, Marlyn Foy caught a big interception in the fourth quarter and Corbin Walker had two pass breakups.
