Missy Gators defeated Madison Central 49-40

Vicksburg High School girl’s basketball team pulled off a 49-40 win over Madison Central on Thursday.

The Missy Gators went up 12-8 after a 3-pointer by Ja’Na Colenburg and a couple of shots by Janiah Caples.

By halftime, VHS let the Lady Jaguars take the lead but things would soon heat up in the second half.

Layla Carter got hot in the second half and Kierra James knocked down a 3-pointer. Carter continued to rack up points heading into the fourth as she finished with 18 points.

Caples added eight points in the while James and Jelisa Tyler finished with six.

VHS will play Warren Central on Saturday.
