Montgomery led Warren County in rushing yards

Vicksburg High School running back Malik Montgomery led Warren County in rushing yards in the 2022 season.

Montgomery, who was also the All-District 5A Region 2 Offensive Player of the Year, finished the season with 1,141 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns to help the Gators to a 10-3 season under Head Coach Todd McDaniel.

Montgomery still has the 2023 season to star for VHS.

Other Warren County lead rushers:

  • DeCorey Knight Jr-1,011 rushing yards with 15 touchdowns.
  • Trey Hall-1,009 rushing yards with 14 rushing touchdowns.
  • Johnny Smith-971 rushing and nine rush yards.
  • Jase Jung-687 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns.
  • Thompson Fortenberry-657 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns.
  • Ty Mack-507 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns.
  • Eric Collins Jr. 495 rushing yards and five touchdowns.
  • Darius Carter-365 rushing yards and five touchdowns.
