WCJHS girl’s basketball team defeated VJHS on Thursday

Warren Central High School Junior High girl’s basketball team defeated Vicksburg Junior High 30-13 on Thursday.

The Lady Vikes quickly went up 7-3 in the first quarter after shots by M.Ward, S. Lewis M. Jones and K. Snowden.

N. Jeffers hit two 3-pointers in the second quarter for VJHS but WC still went up 21-9 at halftime after K. McKay, M.Croom and D. McDonald got on the board.

K. Henderson and Jeffers both hit a shot for the Missy Gators out at halftime and Croom got a shot off for WC.

The Lady Vikes maintained their lead in the fourth quarter after a 3-pointer by McKay.

Ward led WC with nine points and McKay finished with seven. Lewis and Croom both scored four points while Jones added three and McDonald put up two. Snowden also had one free throw.

Jeffers led VJHS with 10 points and K. Henderson scored two on the night. N. Watson hit one free throw as well.
