Port Gibson Titans youth football team celebrated their championship season on Saturday

The Port Gibson Titans Youth Football Team celebrated their successful season on Saturday with an awards banquet.

The Titans played teams around Vicksburg, Jackson, Natchez, Louisiana and surrounding areas within the Jackson Freedom League.

A-Team:

Coaches for the A-Team are David Jones, Ocie Brown and Coach Bailey who all helped the team to a 4-2 record as they were the runner ups for the championship.

Individual awards given for the A-Team(11-12 year olds)

  1. MVP- Ajavion McGrew
  2. Offensive MVP- Devin Flowers
  3. MVP Defensive Player- Ocie Brown III
  4. Newcomer of the Year- G.Grisby

B-Team:

The B-Team went 6-0 and won the championship in their age group. They were coached by David Jones, Ocie Brown and Wendell Barnes.

Awards for the B-Team:

  1. MVP/offensive MVP-Ocie Brown III
  2. Defensive MVP-Cameron Brown
  3. Most Improved- Chandler
  4. Newcomer of the Year-Steve

The C-Team also won a championship with a 6-0 record as they were coached by David Jones and Terrance Bailey.

Awards for the C-Team:

  1. MVP-Alvin Dotson Jr.
  2. Offensive MVP-Sykes
  3. Defensive MVP- Jaiden Jones
  4. Most Improve- DJ Rankin
  5. Newcomer of the Year- Odom

This season marked the fourth year in a row that PG has won a championship in this league and all the kids celebrated by receiving their trophies and rings at the ceremony.

Many individuals made an appearance and spoke at the event that was well organized.
