PCA crushes SIA 70-45 on senior night

Senior night was a success for Porter’s Chapel Academy girl’s basketball team as they came out with a 70-45 win over Sharkey-Issaquena Academy.

The Lady Eagles came out hard as Anjel Walton got a quick layup followed by Hannah Henderson who got big inside the paint. Tiara Sims then found herself getting some buckets late in the first quarter with PCA leading 15-4.

The second quarter belonged to Sims as she put up 11 points in the quarter alone as PCA maintained a 28-14 lead going into halftime.

Coming out of halftime, the Lady Eagles stayed in control of things with Sims leading the way while Sophie Masterson made a quick shot while heading into the final quarter up 45-29.

The Lady Eagles turned things up a notch in the fourth quarter as Anjel Walton got to the basket easy and the game ended with a 3-pointer by Emily Muirhead.

Sims led with 35 points and Hannah Henderson added 15 points with 16 rebounds. Walton put up 11 points and Masterson finished with four while Muirhead added three. Audrey Carraway scored two points.

“We came out with a lot of energy and intensity and we finished our senior night with a bang,” seniors Henderson, Walton, and Sims said.
