A big fifth inning helped Warren Central High School baseball team secure a 5-0 win over Ocean Springs on Saturday.

The game remained scoreless in the first couple of innings after Connor Watkins struck out two batters early on in the win.

Kylan Landers doubled in the third inning which was followed by a ground ball from Maddox Lynch that got WC the first run score of the day.

WC would make a statement in the fifth inning, starting with a home run by Blake Channell and another double from Lynch that pushed the Vikings lead to 3-0. They would go up by four at the end of the fifth after a single from Watkins.

Heading into the six inning, Watkins would strikeout another couple of batters while Channell handled things at the plate with another home run in the 5-0 victory where no errors were committed by WC.

Channell went 2 for 4 with two RBIs in the win while Watkins and Landers both had two hits. Cade Fairley and Lynch both had a hit as well.

Watkins struck out eight in the win and allowed zero runs.

WC(4-2) will host Jackson Prep on Saturday.
