MSU grabbed a 8-7 win over Ole Miss

STARKVILLE – On a record-setting day at Dudy Noble Field, 16,423 fans saw the Mississippi State Bulldogs walk off the Ole Miss Rebels 8-7. Dakota Jordan was today’s hero, as he picked up the winning hit on a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning with one out. The 16,423 fans in attendance set a new NCAA all-time on-campus attendance record. The Dawgs held the previous mark of 15,586, which was set on April 12, 2014.
Jordan finished 2-for-5 at the dish with two RBIs. Colton Ledbetter hit two homers and had three RBIs in the win. His second home run put the Dawgs ahead for the first time at 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh inning. An inning prior, Ledbetter and Hunter Hines hit back-to-back bombs, moving the Dawgs within one run.
Landon Gartman drew the start on the mound for the Bulldogs. He went four innings, allowing four hits and two runs, one being unearned. Nate Dohm picked up his fifth victory of the year after entering in relief in the eighth.
The rubber match between the Diamond Dawgs and Rebels is set for 1 p.m. Sunday. The game will be broadcast on SECN+
