Kings Point Island’s power outage lingers as Entergy’s arrival is awaited
Last updated:
Kings Point Island’s power outage saga continues into its fourth day, with resolution potentially postponed until the end of the week.
In a recent Warren County Board of Supervisors meeting, Board President Kelle Barfield voiced her dismay over the ongoing lack of action to restore power. Having received a call from a landowner last Friday, Barfield spent her weekend making attempts to secure resources for the residents.
Barfield highlighted a communication gap with Entergy. She stated the company was telling residents that the county should facilitate their transportation needs for the restoration work. However, Barfield stated she had been trying to reach someone at Entergy but no one from Entergy had reached back out.
Warren County Road Manager Jamie Cain also stated no one from Entergy had contacted his office.
Later on Monday, Barfield updated Vicksburg Daily News on the situation and confirmed that Entergy did communicate back, stating its road manager had been informed to have a crew scheduled to address power outages this Friday, when the next ferry runs.
