Missing teenager identified as homicide victim in Jefferson Davis County

A recently reported missing teenager out of Jefferson Davis County is now dead.

14-year-old Hayden Burke of Carson was identified as the deceased last week. His body was found face down by oil company workers in Prentiss where he suffered from at least one gunshot wound.

Burke’s body was sent to the Mississippi Forensics Laboratory in Biloxi  and the Jefferson Davis County Sheriff’s Department will hold a press conference on Monday.

Burke was reported missing on Aug. 3 but was last seen on September 4.
