WC ninth grade girl’s basketball team defeated Rosa Scott; Boys fell short

Warren Central High School ninth grade girl’s basketball team defeated Rosa Scott 31-25 on Monday night.

The Lady Vikes trailed 6-3 at the end for the first quarter after a 3-pointer from Malia Croom. Shaniya Lewis stepped up and added five points in the second quarter to help WC go up 18-8 by halftime.

Keke McKay had a productive third quarter by adding seven points on the board while her and Lewis both got a successful layup in the fourth.

McKay led with 16 points while Lewis finished with seven. Croom ended the night with six points.

WC boy’s game:

The Vikings took a 49-41 loss to Rosa Scott. Micah Moore led the team with 17 points and Deric Gibbs finished with nine.

The Vikings will host Brandon on Thursday.
