ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, VA (NBC) – Calls to a toilet manufacturer’s customer service were really in the crapper when a troubled Virginia couple was connected to an adult services line instead.
The couple had just purchased a new mobile home and was in the process of renovating the fixer upper.
“They just bought,” mother Debbie Attard said about her son and his wife.
The focus of work was been on the bathroom with plastering, tiling and plumbing, but it’s this toilet that gave them the biggest belly ache.
When the family went to install the toilet bowl they bought from Lowe’s, Attard thought some parts were missing.
She picked up the phone and called the number listed at the top of the owner’s manual, hoping to talk with customer service.
“It was a sex line,” Attard said.
In an instant, the home improvement plans turned pornographic.
“I was appalled,” Attard said. “I couldn’t believe it. I had called it like five or six times to make sure I didn’t dial it wrong.”
It wasn’t the type of assistance she had in mind.
Lowe’s said all the AquaSource toilets have been removed from shelves and sales of the product are halted.
AquaSource is the Lowe’s brand toilet.
A company employee said they are asking the vendor to look into the situation.
