Kemond Jones, 15, was arraigned in the Warren County Justice Court Tuesday, having been charged with the murder of 18-year-old Ethan Powell.

Jones’ bond was set at $1 million by Judge Ed Woods.

Warren County deputies found Powell laying in the street on Abraham Drive with multiple gunshot wounds just after midnight Monday morning, according to Sheriff Martin Pace.  He was transported to Merit Health River Region Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Jones surrendered to authorities later the same day.

Under Mississippi law, Jones will be tried as an adult.
