One tased and transported on Warrenton Road
Three people were detained and one is in police custody after, allegedly, stealing money from a man in Vicksburg.
Around 10:15 this morning, a Warren County man gave two individuals a ride. He dropped them off a short time later on Warrenton Road between the casinos. Almost immediately, he realized that money was missing from his vehicle. He called 911 and gave a description of the two individuals that he dropped off and their approximate location.
A Vicksburg police officer was near the area and spotted the two individuals. While attempting to detain them, he had to deploy his taser. The other individual stayed at the police vehicle as the officer called for backup. Several units arrived shortly thereafter and three individuals were detained and searched.
An ambulance was called to the scene to treat the individual that was tased.
The tased individual was taken into custody by the VPD. The other two people, one of whom was assumed to be the driver that gave them a ride, were released.
