A 60-year-old woman was arrested in Oxford where she allegedly stole over $2,000 from a bank.

Karen Sue Bell, of Water Valley, is now in jail and has a $25,000 bail after robbing Regions Bank on University Avenue. Investigators told Fox13 that Bell committed the robbery because she had financial problems, car trouble and she couldn’t pay her rent.

University Avenue is known for having a lot of traffic throughout the day, especially in the area of the bank.

Bell did not have a weapon at the time of the robbery but she convinced the clerk that she was armed.
