Meridian Police searching for suspect in the death of former Georgia police chief

Meridian Police are asking for help locating a shooting suspect in the death of a former Georgia police chief. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Police are searching for Christopher Denson, 41, suspected of shooting his uncle, Almond Turner, to death at the 1st and Ten Lounge around 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, multiple news outlets report.
Turner retired from the Covington Police Department in Georgia in 2016 as its assistant police chief. He was serving on the Newton County School Board at the time of his death.
Denson is a black male, 6 foot 1 inches tall. He used an AK-47 to kill his uncle, firing five or six shots.
The victim was shot multiple times. Capt. John Griffith of the Meridian Police told WTOK there was a family gathering at the club at the time of the shooting.
