Marjorie Pauline Bennett, 1922 – 2020

Marjorie Pauline Bennett passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at the age of 97.

Marjorie was born in Casey, Illinois, on Oct. 27, 1922, the daughter of Zene and Mary Alona Applegate. She lived most of her life in the south. She moved to Rolling Fork in 1962 and to northwest Arkansas in 2015. She worked in retail, was a beautician and a lab/X-ray tech.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 69 years, Lyle Bennett; siblings Glen Applegate, Aleen Gardner, Howard Applegate, Lowell Applegate, Mary Kaye Applegate and Baby Boy Applegate; and her daughter Rita Yvonne Bennett in 1941.

She is survived by her children Suelynn Cauthen (Harry) and Gregory Bennett (Suann); and grandchildren Tara Cauthen, Kristin Cauthen, Derrick Cauthen and Lyle Bennett, Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Rolling Fork with Rev. Millard Collier officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Lyle Bennett, Jr., Derrick Cauthen, Frank Corbin, Harvey Cockrell, Clark Carter and John Abny.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Walker, Larry, Cordell, Jimmy Glisson, Neal Clinksdale and Bill Newsom.
