Kanye West will be a presidential candidate on Mississippi ballots
Along with the major party candidates, there’s another name that will appear as a presidential contender on Mississippi ballots: Kanye West.
The State Board of Election Commissioners approved the rapper as a qualified candidate, and he will appear on the ballot as an independent, according to The Associated Press.
To qualify, West paid $2,500 to the Mississippi Secretary of State’s office and submitted at least 1,000 signatures of registered voters in the state who support him.
In addition to Mississippi, West has qualified in several other states including Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Utah.
