VPD reports theft of two handguns in auto burglaries Monday

The Vicksburg Police Department reports three auto burglaries occurred Monday, Sept. 21, two of which involved the theft of handguns.

At 7:49 a.m. officers responded to the 2100 block of Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard where the car owner reported that someone broke into a 2012 Camry Hybrid and stole a box of ready to eat meals.

Riverwalk Casino, 1046 Warrenton Road, was the scene of another auto burglary Monday at around10:54 a.m. The victim stated someone broke into a 2014 Chevrolet Impala and stole a .357-caliber Magnum revolver.

A third burglary occurred at the Circle K convenience store, 3400 Halls Ferry Road, around 4:10 p.m. The victim stated someone entered a 2010 Ford truck and stole a 9-mm Sig Sauer semi-automatic pistol. The truck had been left unlocked.
