The Vicksburg High School softball season came to an upsetting end on Thursday against New Hope in a 9-5 loss.

Lexie Kistler pitched the majority of the game for VHS as she allowed six hits and struck out one batter. She also hit a home run in the first inning that got the Missy Gators a 2-0 head start.

Overall, VHS racked up a total of 13 hits, with Trinity McGloster leading the way by going 3 for 4 at bat. Kellisia Walker also homered in the sixth inning.

Kistler led the Missy Gators with four RBIs and Avery VanNorman and Jamie Ward both went 2 for 3 at the plate.

Tonight’s game was a do over from VHS’s 9-6 victory on Tuesday where a conflict over game balls caused the game to be replayed.

The Missy Gators had plenty of support tonight as they played in front of a sold-out crowd underneath the leadership of head coach Brian Ellis.
