Second shooting reported in the city

Vicksburg Police responded to Merit Health River Region Emergency Room for a reported gun shot victim around 10 p.m. Saturday, May 8.

Initial reports indicate that the victim is a 16-year-old male, with a gun shot wound to the right arm and back.  Police say his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, but he was transferred to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment.

The incident is reported to have happened at the Elizabeth Circle Subdivision.

It is unconfirmed if the incident is related to the earlier shooting at an apartment complex on Grove Street. The Vicksburg Daily News is working to obtain additional information and we will bring it to you as soon as it becomes available.
