Theesfeld expected to plea guilty for the murder of Ole Miss student Ally Kostial
Last updated:
Brandon Theesfeld is expected to plea guilty to the first-degree murder of former Ole Miss student Ally Kostial on Friday, WLBT reports.
District Attorney Ben Creekmore confirmed the plea expectation on Tuesday. Defense attorney Tony Farese confirmed the scheduling for the plea hearing in Lafayette County Circuit Court.
Under the plea agreement, according to Farese, Theesfeld could be conditionally released at age 65.
Two years ago, Kostial’s body was found about 20 miles from the Ole Miss campus during a patrol of Buford’s Ridge fishing camp on Sardis Lake.
Upon the discovery of the body, it was revealed she was shot eight times.
A grand jury found that Theesfeld kidnapped Kostial and then shot her to death. Kostial’s friends spoke on social media after the murder, stating the relationship between her and Theesfeld was not a good one.
Kostial was a rising senior at Ole Miss who was on track to receive her bachelor’s degree in marketing.
