VPD officers make arrest after witnessing drug transaction

An observed drug deal at Speed and Washington Streets lead to a short chase and arrest Wednesday afternoon.

Around 4:30 p.m., Vicksburg Police Officers Mario Grady, Donnie Heggins and Matt Barnes observed a drug transaction.

When officers attempted to make the arrest, the suspect began to flee in an attempt to evade law enforcement.

Officers were able to apprehend the suspect on Speed Street, between Washington and Marshall.
