Hinds County director of administration arrested on warrant for embezzlement

Hinds County Director of Administration Stephen Hopkins was arrested on Wednesday on an embezzlement charge.
According to a report by WLBT, Hopkins was involved in a car wreck on Wednesday. Ridgeland police discovered there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest after running a background check.
Hopkins is being held at the Hinds County Detention Center.
Officials stated the charges were not related to actions taken while Hopkins was with Hinds County.
