WCJHS volleyball team swept VJHS on Wednesday

Warren Central High School’s seventh and eighth-grade volleyball team defeated Vicksburg Junior High on Wednesday.

“They played together as a team, communicated very well and did just what I expected them to do,” WC Head Coach Latoya Lumpkin said.

Seventh-grade game:

The seventh-graders won in two sets with scores of 25-12 and 25-13.

MK Ferguson led the Lady Vikes with 10 aces on 14 serves. Kennedy Smith also displayed skill on her serves and on defense, along with McKinley Owen and Laney Bull.

Eighth-grade game:

The Lady Vikes won 25-21 and 25-6 on the eighth-grade side.

Kennedi McKay led things on the defensive side while Whitley White was credited with 15 points and six aces. Morgan Jones also pitched in some key attacks.

Next game:

Warren Central Junior High School will travel to Brandon on Thursday.
