Stevens presented with the John L. Hartman Award

Vicksburg-Warren School District Board member Alonzo Stevens was honored by the Mississippi School Boards Association for his commitment to Board development, professional continuing education and student success and was presented with the John L. Hartman Memorial Attendance Award.

Stevens was given the award due to his completing 86 hours of MSBA-approved board training hours during the 2021-2022 school year.

In his nine years sitting on the VWSD board, this is his seventh time winning the John L. Hartman Award.

Stevens is a longtime educator and football coach who retired a decade ago and continues to make an impact on the community today.
