Early Thanksgiving crash on Highway 61 results in serious injuries

Serious injuries resulted from a collision early Thanksgiving morning on Highway 61.

Just after midnight on Thursday, two vehicles with Louisiana plates were involved in a collision on Highway 61 South, near The Tomato Place.

According to a witness, a car involved was traveling northbound in the southbound lane and made contact with a truck traveling south in the southbound lane.

The circumstances of the crash have not been officially confirmed, however, the crash resulted in significant injuries.
