Bryan Pratt has been seated for a third term on the Vicksburg Warren School Board of Trustees.

The special election held on Tuesday was necessary because the 3-way contest for the seat held in early November did not have a candidate with 50% +1 vote of the votes.

Shane Quimby and Bill Jeffers gained enough votes in that election to cause a runoff between the top vote-getter, Pratt, and the second place candidate, Quimby. Quimby, a recently retired firefighter, was in his first campaign for public office.

In a live report with the Vicksburg Daily News, both candidates were complimentary of the other. “It was a good close race, but Bryan won out,” said a gracious Shane Quimby. Pratt responded, “Runoffs are always hard. The weather impacted a lot of people coming out today.” He goes on to say, “We’re all friends,” to which Quimby immediately responded, “We’re still friends.”

The vote tally, shown in the video below, favored Pratt by enough votes that the remaining absentee ballots would not impact the outcome of the race.
