Human remains found in Mississippi

Human remains were discovered in Lee County near Saltillo over the weekend.

According to Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson, the human remains were found on Sunday  in the woods.

“After deputies determined it was human remains, investigators responded to the scene and began processing the area,” Johnson said.

Evidence from the scene has been sent to the Mississippi State Crime Lab where hopefully the deceased can be identified.

Johnson mentioned that he will provide more information when it becomes available.
